    Who we are

Inheritance Money Advice ("we", "us") operates this website. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Questions, requests and complaints about your data can be sent to privacy@inheritancemoneyadvice.co.uk.

We are an information and introduction service. We do not provide regulated financial advice. See our Terms of Use.

    What we collect

We only collect what we need. Specifically:

    • Details you give us in the planner: your name, email address and — only if you choose to provide it, or if you ask to be called — your phone number.
    • Your planner answers: whether the inheritance has been received or is expected, the approximate amount range, what you are considering doing with it, your main concern, whether you already have an adviser, what help you are looking for, and your decision timeframe. These are ranges and multiple-choice answers, not detailed financial records.
    • Consent record: the fact that you ticked the consent box, the exact wording shown to you, and the date and time.
    • Attribution and technical data: the page you submitted from, the referring website, and any campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) in the link you arrived on.
    • Analytics data — only if you accept analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, bank details, account numbers, National Insurance numbers, health information or other special category data.

Why we use it, and our lawful bases

    • To introduce you to an FCA-authorised financial advice firm when you ask us to — consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). The wording you agree to is: “I agree for Inheritance Money Advice to use my details to introduce me to an FCA-regulated adviser. I understand I can opt out at any time.”
    • To operate and secure the website, including preventing abuse of our forms — legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
    • To keep records of consent and enquiries — legal obligation and legitimate interests.
    • Analytics — consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.

    Who we share it with

FCA-authorised financial advice firm. Where you ask for an introduction, we share your name, contact details and your planner answers with an FCA-authorised financial advice firm so that firm can contact you. Our current intended introduction partner is Life Map Ltd, FCA Firm Reference Number 813341. That firm will use your details in line with its own privacy notice and its own regulatory obligations. The precise data-protection roles of each party are set out in the arrangement between us and that firm; if you would like details of the current arrangement, contact us at privacy@inheritancemoneyadvice.co.uk.

Service providers we use. Supabase (secure hosting of the enquiry database), Resend (sending the internal notification email that tells us a new enquiry has arrived), Netlify (website hosting) and — only with your consent — Google Analytics 4. These providers act on our instructions and are bound by contract.

We never sell your personal data and we do not share it with unrelated marketing companies.

    International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision, together with appropriate safeguards.

    How long we keep it

Enquiry records, including consent records, are kept for 24 months from your submission and then deleted, unless we are required to keep them longer to meet a legal obligation or to handle a complaint. Test records created during our own quality checks are flagged as tests and removed once the check is complete. You can ask us to delete your record sooner at any time.

    Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any right — including deletion or a copy of your data — email privacy@inheritancemoneyadvice.co.uk with the email address you used. We respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

    Complaints

Please tell us first — see our Complaints page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow SK9 5AF, 0303 123 1113, ico.org.uk. Complaints about advice you received from an FCA-authorised firm should go to that firm, and then to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

    Changes

We update this policy when our practices change and will revise the date at the top.
